Dental Implants in Bohle Plains

What We Have Here

This clinic has a cone beam CT scanner (a Dentsply Sirona Orthophos XG 3D) and a Medit i700 intra-oral scanner. Implants placed here are Osstem, Neoss, Straumann, Neodent and Nobel. Carrying more than one system matters more than it sounds: the right fixture for a narrow ridge is not always the right one for a molar site.

Every implant starts with a 3D scan rather than a guess. The scan shows where the bone actually is, how much of it there is, and where the nerve and the sinus sit. The placement is planned on that scan before anyone picks up an instrument, which is what guided surgery means in practice.

Some people are told they cannot have implants because there is not enough bone left to hold one, and the usual answer is a graft and a long wait. This clinic is one of the two in our group, along with Kirwan, that also does zygomatic and pterygoid implants. Those anchor into bone further back and higher up, which can be an option where a conventional implant has nowhere to go. We also repair oro-antral communications here.

Dr Ricky Sandhu comes up from the Gold Coast to do this work, along with All-on-X, sinus lifts and difficult extractions. Dr Sudeep Singh, a registered Specialist Periodontist, also consults at this clinic.

Getting It Done Without the Drive

Most patients in the Townsville area can have the whole course of treatment at one clinic, from the first scan to the final crown. That includes the complex surgical work, which is done here rather than referred to Brisbane.

A visiting anaesthetist attends this clinic, so if you would rather be sedated for the surgery, or the case is long enough to warrant it, that can be arranged here rather than somewhere else.
