Root Canal Treatment in Ingham

A root canal treats the inside of a tooth when the nerve has died or is dying, usually from deep decay, a crack, or an old knock catching up with you years later. Where there is active infection a dressing goes in and the sealing happens at a second visit, which is a judgement about the tooth rather than a way of adding appointments.

Sometimes taking the tooth out is genuinely the better call, and we will say so when it is. But a gap has costs of its own: teeth either side drift into it, the tooth above or below over-erupts, chewing shifts to the other side, and the bone where the root was slowly resorbs. Replacing it later with an implant or a bridge generally costs more than saving it would have.
